#12 - The confessional one.....
It's been 2 months since my last post.....
š§ Whatās on my mindā¦.
Itās been 2 months since my last postā¦..oh all right then - 10 weeks.
Thatās 70 days
1680 hours
100,800 minutes
6,048,000 seconds
Thatās the length of time Iāve been in limbo land š«£. Or that should probably be la-la land (and no I donāt mean Hollywood). La-la land is when Iāve been popping my hands over my ears and just ignoring everything and while my āStronger Business and Body Experimentā has gone by the wayside.
Iāve been in limbo land because Iāve been busy juggling my clients with business trips and family stuff that comes at the end of every school year.
Andā¦.I got caught up in my next (rather wonderful if I say it myself) idea.
Thinking about it.
Designing it.
Talking about it.
Creating it.
And getting ready to launch it.
Itās been great - to let the excitement build and see it take form.
But Iām noticing my physical energy is depleted.
And that was most definitely NOT what was supposed to happen this year!
This year, I was longing to do things differently - and in the last couple of months, Iāve forgotten to make my career work for me. All of me. Not just the part of me that loves to create new things.
š” The advice Iād give to clients
Now rather embarrassingly, I talk all the time about how to make your career work for you. Iāve done it many times for myself over the years and helped hundreds of other people on this exact thing. There are 2 bits of advice I always giveā¦.
First - get clear whatās most important to you deep down.
Then look at who can help you.
šÆ Taking my own advice
So whatās feels most important to me right now is simplicity and peace. Having it all come naturally so I get out of my own way and get shit done!
And letās face it - the person that can help me is me. And Iām a bloody coach after all!
I should be able to do this.
But we all have our āstuffā we want to work on - and Iāve written before about how coaching can help and yep - even a coach can use a coach from time to time to help them get out of their own way! So, as Iāve promised to take my own advice, I decided to get a coach for a few sessions.
Now I originally wanted a technical coach to help me move a few of my new products forward as my tech VA was on holiday. And as the talented Amelia Stewart (Em) helped me sort some tech bits last year, I got in touch again. When we had a bit more of a chat, she shared that she was all about helping people make things simple. And I thought - thatās just what I need!
And I signed up for 3 months.
We spent the first few weeks getting those tech headaches off my lap. And today we went deeper and actually did an exercise I use all all the time with my own clients.
It was fascinating being on the other end of it - and Iāve got to confess I resisted it for a while because I had my own Coach voice in my head treating it as an observation exercise! But Em did a brilliant job at keeping me there - and Iāll share more once Iāve let things settle a bit. It reminded me how much things can shift when we feel listened to and heard - thatās the beauty of coaching.
š Your Turn!
How is your own experiment getting on? Have you gone great guns or have you got your own pause youād like to confess?

What a great idea! I believe that our clients come to us to receive our guidance and, in so doing, they teach us things about ourselves. The gift is reciprocal in the universal sense. I have finished plenty of sessions thinking that their practice would also be beneficial to me and I've tried some of them. But I really like the intentional approach you're taking. I'll be following thisā¦
